It used to be that the president was the most powerful person in the country. That all changed when Wrath crossed over to our world. Nothing could stop him. Nothing can kill him. Eventually we all bowed at his altar.
Now there are websites dedicated to worshipping him. Countless internet memes about how ridiculously gorgeous he is. And yeah, I can admit he’s fine as hell. But he’s a villain to end all villains. There’s no way I’m falling prey to that.
That is until I accidentally cross paths with the Demon King. Wrath demands I bow to him. For a second, I almost do. Being around him is...consuming. But dying is better than surrendering and I refuse.
Except when Wrath turns his dark, dangerous power on me...it doesn’t work. And now the villain is looking at me like I’m the enemy.
I manage to get away, but word quickly spreads -- Rain Low, a nobody from a tourist town is somehow immune to the Demon King.
Now Wrath is hellbent on destroying me and those who want to destroy him are hellbent on using me.
But I’m no heroine. And I’m certainly no villain. But if I’m going to survive, I have to play the game. If the Demon King wants a fight, he’s going to get one.
Note: Ruthless Demon King is the first book in a villain enemies-to-lovers paranormal romance trilogy. You can expect lots of tension, action, twists and hate kissing, and a villain you love to love. Ruthless Demon King is a full novel (55k) and will end on a cliffhanger.

Dark fantasy romance stories featuring morally grey villains and high-stakes power dynamics have reached widespread readership through bestselling titles like The Never King, the opening entry in the popular Vicious Lost Boys series. Author Nikki St. Crowe has established a prominent presence in dark romantasy and paranormal romance, regularly topping bestseller lists with high-heat reimaginings of classic tropes where anti-heroes take center stage and female protagonists claim their own power.
Before achieving commercial success in dark romance, Nikki St. Crowe began her creative journey in grade school, placing second in a fourth-grade Young Author's Competition with a story centered on a magical mansion filled with treasure. She initially published children's fiction through traditional publishing routes in the mid-2000s. After a colleague suggested she pivot to romance in 2016, she began reading authors like Laurell K. Hamilton and embraced the paranormal subgenre. Seeking greater autonomy over her creative path, she transitioned to independent publishing in 2018. Today, when she is not writing or plotting, she resides near Lake Michigan with her husband and daughter, often spending time in the woods or watching sunsets along the shore.
St. Crowe's narrative style is defined by fast-paced plotting, explicit spice, and sinister fairytale or mythic atmospheric settings paired with gothic fairytale background music during her drafting process. Her books feature dark paranormal elements, morally grey anti-heroes, monsters, and fierce female leads who gain agency rather than submitting to traditional heroic conventions. By shifting focus away from conventional heroes toward complex villains, her works emphasize female empowerment, dark intrigue, and intense romantic suspense.
