Between July 2012 and January 2013, she returned to Massachusetts to write the initial draft of Red Queen. Following the commercial success of her debut novel, Sony Pictures partnered with Aveyard to write a spec screenplay titled Eternal. Aveyard later expanded her bibliography with the YA high fantasy Realm Breaker trilogy and currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and dog.
