Career & Background
Before achieving USA Today and international bestselling status, Amber V. Nicole built a creative foundation through writing short fiction during high school and pursuing English coursework in college. Her early fascination with mythology led her to contribute to a Greek literature blog examining ancient and modern pantheons, an experience that directly informed her world-building. Outside of her writing career, she worked professionally as a veterinary assistant dedicated to animal care. She eventually utilized social media platforms like BookTok to introduce her self-created worlds to fantasy readers, which launched her professional authorial career and brought her work to major publishers including Kensington Books, Rose & Star Publishing, and Hachette UK.
Writing Style & Themes
Amber V. Nicole is known for blending dark fantasy romance with subtle horror tropes, featuring rich fantasy landscapes populated by dragons, ancient magic, and high-stakes conflict. Her narratives consistently prioritize morally gray protagonists and complex villains, placing flawed figures into the central spotlight rather than traditional heroic archetypes. Drawing creative inspiration from video games and anime, she constructs emotionally intense storylines that explore the burdens of power, loyalty, and redemption amidst chaotic mythical wars.
