Before launching her career as a novelist, Nita Prose worked for nearly two decades in Canadian book publishing under her real name, Nita Pronovost. Born in Ontario in 1972, she studied English and drama at the University of Toronto before completing a publishing program at Ryerson University. She began her literary career writing for literary magazines and working as a production editor at HarperCollins Canada, where she eventually rose to managing editor. She later served as a senior editor at Doubleday and Penguin before joining Simon & Schuster Canada in 2016. At Simon & Schuster, she served as vice president and editorial director, overseeing the editorial team and ghostwriting celebrity memoirs while guiding numerous authors to bestseller status before transitioning to full-time fiction writing following the massive success of her 2022 debut novel.
