Career & Background
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Snyder initially pursued a career in science, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Pennsylvania State University. She worked for several years as an environmental meteorologist before turning her focus to creative writing following the birth of her son. She subsequently pursued formal study in narrative craft, earning a Master of Arts degree in fiction writing from Seton Hill University.
After graduating in 2007, Snyder maintained a strong connection to Seton Hill University by joining the faculty as an instructor and mentor for its Writing Popular Fiction Master of Fine Arts program. Beyond her teaching and writing, she frequently draws on extensive personal travel and varied hands-on experiences to inform her fiction.
