Born in Dungarvan, County Waterford, Ireland, author Kealan Patrick Burke has published six novels alongside more than two hundred short stories and novellas. Described by Booklist as one of contemporary horror's most clever and original talents, his work spans supernatural terror, dark fantasy, crime fiction, and psychological mystery.
Burke's stories frequently investigate personal trauma, insidious entities, and isolated environments. Career & Background
Kealan Patrick Burke was born on August 4, 1976, in Dungarvan, County Waterford, Ireland. Growing up with an early passion for dark literature and storytelling, he spent his formative years in Ireland before emigrating to the United States in August 2001, just weeks prior to the events of September 11. He subsequently settled in Delaware, Ohio, where he established his professional career in writing and graphic design.
Over the course of his literary career, Burke has authored six novels, numerous novellas, and multiple short story collections, in addition to editing dark fiction anthologies. Alongside his writing, he works as a book cover designer and photographer. Represented by Valarie Phillips at Verve Talent & Literary Agency, several of his stories and novellas have entered active development for film and television adaptation.
