Career & Background
Kaliane Bradley was born in Walthamstow, East London, to a British father and a Cambodian Khmer mother, and grew up in London and Essex. She attended University College London, graduating with a degree in English literature, and subsequently established her career as a writer and editor based in London. Her short stories appeared in numerous publications, including Somesuch Stories, The Willowherb Review, Electric Literature, Catapult, and Extra Teeth. In 2022, her short fiction gained major recognition when she won both the Harper's Bazaar Short Story Prize and the V.S. Pritchett Short Story Prize, establishing her voice prior to the release of her acclaimed debut novel.
